NE David Friedman is a professional sportswriter who specializes in basketball. In the chess world, he is one of the strongest players in the Dayton area and has contributed to Chess Life Magazine. You can check out his blog on basketball, "20 Second Timeout".

Joe Fogarty is a high school senior from the Cleveland area who will be attending Case Western Reserve University in the fall. In chess circles, he is known for his wit and keen sense of humor.

NE Phillip "Stone Cold" Seitzer is a rated Expert and is one of the top active collegiate players in the state. He is celebrated for his astute observations regarding human nature.

Alexander "Xander" Knecht lived in Ohio until he was 12 and played in many scholastic chess tournaments. His family also helped to start chess a chess club in Bluffton, OH. He currently lives in Loma Linda, California, and is a homeschooled junior. He is the official illustrator for Ohio Chess Connection.

Paul Swaney is a successful and experienced school chess coach who currently coaches at four schools. This year he coached the winning teams in the 5th and 8th grade sections of the Ohio K-12 Grade Level Championships in Solon.

NE Bob Basalla is the author of the book Chess in the Movies and is one of the state's most beloved chess humorists. His work has frequently topped the "Best Humor" category of the CJA Awards.
